I know this because I had another pair, the same HiTec brand, when my kids were little and we were dirt poor. I wore that pair DAILY, replacing the shoe strings occasionally, throughout their preschool years. The first pair I bought new in an Army/Navy surplus store in Missoula, MT.
They are no longer the only pair I own. I like to think that "for a girl" I only have a modest collection.

Ah yes, that's when you know you've got a "good" shoe--when it lasts so long that you have to replace the shoelaces.

Four. I have four pairs of shoes. Three "sneakers" and a pair of black "dress shoes" (for funerals, weddings, and job interviews).
I feel like I OWN TOO MANY, but as you state in your post--you really don't own that many "for a girl."
I like it when blogs "cross pollinate" one another, by the way (and I LOVE to see my name printed anywhere). I have issues...

My daily shoes are "Shoes for Crews" required by PF CHANGs.... so NOT comfortable.

Keith owns 9 pair (mostly work boots for different applications), while I own 14 pair.
